Duo Jewel

Duo Jewel is a professional violin duo based in Rochester NY, containing members Julie Gray and Ellen Stokoe. After meeting while performing in the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Julie and Ellen teamed together to provide professional music services at events such as weddings, parties, corporate events, and funerals. Duo Jewel is a versatile ensemble with the ability to perform in a variety of styles, including classical, jazz, pop, and rock.

Julie Gray

Julie Gray enjoys a diverse career as a violinist. A founding member of Duo Jewel, she was a first violinist in the Syracuse Symphony for eight years. She now performs regularly with both the Rochester and Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestras. A regular at weddings and events in the greater Rochester area, she brings 25 years of experience to the freelance landscape. She resides in Brighton with her husband, Jeff, their three wonderful children, and their lovable pup Gus.

Ellen Stokoe

Ellen (Sonnenberg) Stokoe is a violinist from Wisconsin currently in the violin section of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, she is an active performer in the Rochester, Buffalo, and Finger lakes region. She has over a decade of performance experience in the wedding and event industry. With the RPO, Ellen performed in a live recording of a world premier for the album American Rapture, which received a Grammy Award in 2020.
